Stephanie Abel

Stephanie Abel - Rochester, NY - Rochester Cremation

Stephanie Abel, 47, passed away on July 3, 2020 following a sudden illness.  She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry, and beloved daughter Alexis; father Thomas Herscha and his wife Patricia; sister Lynette, niece Olivia, nephew Matthew and brother-in-law Michael Lebel; parents-in-law Jane and Gerald Abel;  sister-in-law Karen Johnston and her husband Jason; nieces and nephews Taylor Suttera, Joseph and Jared Attili and Zachary and Lauren Johnston, as well as a large group of loving extended family and friends.  Stephanie was predeceased by her mother Betty Galusha.

To anyone who knew Stephanie, she was a rock to lean on, helping anyone who needed anything no matter the circumstance.  She was also a pillar of love and strength to her family.  Her laugh was infectious, and she made everyone around her smile.  She enjoyed adventure, including skydiving with her husband and taking the road with her daughter, sister and friends to wherever it might lead, seeing joy in getting lost and wandering to find her way home.  She especially loved the beach where the warm sun could shine on her beautiful smile.  She will be sorely missed by those she leaves behind.

Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Stephanie’s life on Thursday, July 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Park, 500 Smith Road, Webster, New York.

I’m sorry I never really had the chance to know her from my dad’s side (Augie). I believe that we would have been very good friends based on her love of adventure and the desire of the unknown. Life is unknown to us, our days are never really determined to be what we perceived. Take everyday and live it to the fullest regardless of how you decide that is. May she be in peace now that she is not suffering. My prayers to her daughter, husband, Uncle Tom, and remaining family. Love Tammylee.

Our deepest sympathy to the family, but especially to Uncle Tom and Betty, on the loss of your daughter. Though we only had the good fortune to meet Steph a couple times, she was a sweet soul. Our hearts hurt for you, and we are praying that you will find a little comfort in fond memories. Although miles apart, we think of you often. May God put his loving arms around you and give you peace. With all our love,
