Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Stephen Lee Langfitt, “Sweet Steve”, peacefully passed away on October 14th, 2022 at the age of 77, after an unexpected illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lucille, and brother Charles. Survived by his adoring wife of over 56 years, Aldean “Dee”; children Troy S. Langfitt, Stephanie (Donald) Langfitt Youst and Paige (Richard) Miller; grandchildren Matthew Moy, Sydney Miller, Makenzie Miller; and many beloved brother and sister in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Steve was born on August 13, 1945, in Olean, NY and graduated from Otto Eldred High School in Eldred, PA. Steve met the love of his life, Aldean Dyring, when they were children. They were married June 18, 1966. A love that continued through their whole life. He attended college at Williamsport, PA. He went on to earn his journeyman license as an electrician and worked for the IBEW local 86 for 35 years. They chose to put down roots and start a family in Holley, NY.
Steve was a lover of Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies, feeding the birds at his many bird feeders, lawn care on his most coveted John Deere tractor, golfing, bowling, forever chasing that perfect score in trap shooting as a Member of the Holley Rod and Gun Club, working out at the YMCA, an avid fan of the NY Yankees, football games, good steak dinners, ice cream and Hershey chocolate bars with almonds. Steve was a jokester and liked to pick on all his favorite people.
A celebration of life will be held spring/summer 2023 when he will be placed at the Mount Alton Cemetery in McKean County, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers please donate to: PAWS Animal Shelter, 3371 Gaines Basin Road, Albion, NY 14411.
