Rochester, NY – May 28, 2023 at age 43. Steven is predeceased by his father and best friend, Nicholas Borys; grandparents, Robert & Jeanelle Sant and Steve & Victoria Borys; as well as some aunts and uncles. He is survived by his mother, Marsha Borys; sisters Nicole Ribis (Tim), Renee Borys, Christina Jones, & Jeanelle Borys; nephews Timothy, Nathaniel, & Robert Ribis, and niece Oksana Borys; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Steven loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and cooking were his favorite pastimes. He especially enjoyed doing those activities with his dad. Steven worked as a tree surgeon for years, but had no problem helping anyone out with anything they needed including fixing cars, traveling to clean up after Hurricane Katrina, or something as simple as changing a baby’s diaper. Wherever Steven went, he would create a close-knit brotherhood filled with support, care, and a feeling of belonging. Pretty much anything Steven put his mind to, he could accomplish. He loved to laugh and always had fun at karaoke. He would wow the crowd with his Eminem and Righteous Brothers vocals. Steven was a natural comedian making everyone around him laugh every chance he got.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Rochester Adult & Teen Challenge (https://www.rochesteratc.org) in Steven’s memory. This is an organization that helps people overcome addiction, a battle Steven fought for most of his life.
Steven’s Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 11th, 5:00 PM at Anchor Christian Church, 375 Beaver Road, Rochester, 14624 with a coffee, sweets, and charcuterie social hour afterwards.
We are so very sorry for your loss as a family. Our hearts grieve with you and we lift you all up in prayer. We pray that God helps to heal your hearts over time and that Steven’s loss is not in vain and that others may seek solace and help through Adult and Teen Challenge.

My sincere condolences to Stevens family. I heard if his passing last Friday from a mutual friend. Steven and I lived together for some time many years ago back in Raleigh and we became close friends. We would travel together after hurricanes looking for work. It has been many years since we’ve talked but I have never forgotten him. I have always considered him one of my closest friends. He was so kind and just a good person to everyone. He is missed and I will keep him alive by telling my kids stories of our times together. RIP my friend.

So sorry to hear about Steven’s passing. I remember making goofy faces with him in the car when he was 12 . We also shared some time shooting hoops in the driveway when he was a young teen. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed. Our prayers are with the family during this time.
