Our dear mother, Theresa (Piecynski) Philmon, sadly passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the age of 79 surrounded by her 3 children and family after her battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her brothers, Danny and Ronny Piecynski along with her parents. She is survived by her sister Jackie (Louie) Fumanti, her children Linda Zulke (Dave Belknap), Daniel Philmon (Geri Vaeth) and Carol Gillette (Dave Wagner), nieces and nephews, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Theresa was the daughter of John and Jenny Piecynski who was born in Brussels, Belgium and brought her to America when she was young. She met her former husband (also deceased), John D. Philmon, who was an over the road truck driver and had 3 children. She raised them with love and devotion while she worked hard to provide for her children at Eastman Kodak Company for 25 years and part time at Flower City Tissue Mill.
A heart-felt THANK YOU to the Palliative Care Center at UR Strong for their compassionate care while she fought the cancer.
The family would be honored if you are able to attend a service to celebrate her life at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 4492 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612 on Saturday, May 6th at 10:30am. Lunch and memories of Theresa will follow service and will be disclosed after the service.
In lieu of flowers please honor Theresa and donate in her memory to the Wilmot Cancer Institute, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14642.
