Thomas J. Palmer
Rochester, NY – September 22, 2024, at age 92. Tom was predeceased by his first wife of 52 years, Faith; and his brother, George. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Dottie) Palmer and family: Darlene Dewey; Sheila, Daniel, Shaina & Dayle Steiner; sister-in-law, Carolyn; nieces Debra and Pamela; and nephew George, Jr. He lived most of his life in Massillon, Ohio, and moved to the Rochester, New York area ten years ago to be closer to family.
He retired from LTV Steel where he was a computer programmer, having started back in the day when they only had COBOL code for a computer programming language. In 1952 he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was zealous about sharing the wonderful truths found in the Bible with everyone he met. He loved music, played the piano, and even composed his own musical pieces. He was intrigued by language and science, which strengthened his understanding of, and appreciation for, the Bible. In his down time Tom was always working on a puzzle, be it Sudoku, Crossword, or Jumble, and was on the ball about any and all dad jokes he could supply to make everyone around him laugh, none more than Dottie.
Tom’s Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5 at 2:30 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 52 Ingress Park, Rochester (Greece), NY 14606. A ZOOM link will also be available.
We will see you in paradise, my brother.
