Travis Jon Elliot Lockwood (TJ)

Travis Jon Elliot Lockwood, (TJ) - Rochester Cremation

Travis Jon Elliot Lockwood, (TJ to close friends and family), formerly of Brighton, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 47. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Marilyn Lockwood, of Livonia and his sister, Marcy (John) Riordan of Gates, his niece Margaret (Maggie) and his nephew, Parker. In addition, he will be missed by Aunts, Uncles, several cousins and close family friends.

Travis loved the outdoors and spent many of his days fly fishing and hiking in the local county parks. He had a deep appreciation for music and taught himself to play guitar which led to him assisting his father in building guitars.  He loved animals and rescued several throughout his life. We respectfully request that donations to Lollypop Farm or Verona Street Animal Rescue be made in his memory in lieu of flowers.

Funeral arrangements will be made privately and held at the convenience of the family. We invite you to leave us a favorite story or memory of Travis, they are graciously accepted.

Dear family, so sorry for this sudden loss. I was beyond shocked about this news. Travis and I went to school together and hung out together in our younger years. If my memory serves me correctly, it was his parents that asked what I like to be called. Rob or Bob? I was like whatever, so they started calling me RobBob lol. Travis recently reached out to me, he had seen a lot of my FB posts about flying. We talked back and forth about flying, him telling me about how his Dad used to fly as well. He talked about doing some sim flying and I said “I just have to take you up in the air my friend!!!” He was beyond excited, I regret that I never completed that promise, always thinking there is always another time. I will forever be saddened by this, proof that life is just to short. Travis my friend you are definitely flying high, until we meet again. Your friend RobBob.

To my other brother growing up. Playing in the yard, going to school, down at the cottage and of course the penny candy shop. You were always there. We all grew up and we were at weddings and parties on the lake. Be at peace. We love you TJ.

It has taken a bit to gather my thoughts enough to write this, I am so sorry Marilyn, Tom, Marcy, Parker, Maggie and all for such a tremendous loss.

Travis taught me, among so much more; to fish, sail, hike, laugh, trust and love. I taught Travis that throwing pasta on the wall to see if it was done would cost his security deposit.

Many of my best memories include TJ. I am forever grateful that we remained friends and I had his presence in my life for as long as he was with us. He was quite possibly the kindest soul I have ever met.

I am incredibly lucky to have met Travis. He truly made me a better person throughout the years. I will forever miss our talks and his constant caring, kindness, intelligence and humor.

Rest peacefully TJ, you will be forever missed, remembered and dearly loved.

Sue, Thank you for your kind thoughts and and wonderful memories. You made us smile.
You are right, he was a very kind and gentle soul….we have heard such comments from several of the people that he came into contact with through out his life.
I know he enjoyed the fact that the two of you were able to remain friends throughout the years. (I still remember when you joined our family, with your puppy, for a vacation in Cape Cod)
He was deeply loved and his passing leaves a deep ache in our hearts that will be with us until the end of our own lives.

I hope life is good to you and you have the opportunity to create some wonderful memories in the years ahead. I know Travis would want that for you.
