John “Jack” McGinnity - Pittsford, NY - Rochester Cremation

Pittsford, NY: John “Jack” McGinnity passed away on January 18th at home at the age of 91 years old.

Jack was born in New York City on June 12, 1928. He recently moved from Westchester County to Pittsford to live with his family.

He is predeceased by his wife, Judy, and his five siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Molly (Peter) Coons and son, John (Edie) McGinnity Jr.; grandchildren Nate and Julia Coons, Morgan and John III McGinnity; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Jack was a WWII veteran and was stationed in Key West, FL. He would often reminisce about seeing Harry Truman while he was stationed there. After his time in the Navy, he had a long career on Wall street. He never attended college, yet he was able to rise to the rank of vice president at Chase Manhattan Bank and ended his financial career at Hilliard Farber & Co.

Jack was a proud father, Irishman, a faithful Catholic, and a history buff who loved Costco. In his final years he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren in Rochester, but his heart never left New York City. His big smile and good nature will be missed by many.

A Memorial Mass will be held on February 15th at Noon at St. Augustine’s Church, 18 Cherry Ave., Larchmont, NY 10538.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623. Lifetime Hospice provided excellent care to Jack, care that his family will always remember and appreciate.
