Kenneth A. Stanzel, age 65, died Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home in Perry, NY where he lived with his wife, Linda, the last month of his life. Linda, his sister, Pam and his nephew, David were by his side when he passed away peacefully. Ken courageously battled Stage 4 bladder cancer for the past 4 years.
Ken was born and raised in Rochester, NY on June 26, 1955 to Walter and Dorothy (Baker) Stanzel.
He graduated from Madison High School in 1973 and attended Monroe Community College. He met the former Linda Burdge on March 1, 1975 and they were married September 25, 1976. They were together a total of 45 years until Ken’s death.
Ken was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Rochester, NY; his brother, Lynn Stanzel and his sister, Pam (Peter) Elder, both from Webster, NY. He also had many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews, along with many dear friends who supported him through the long battle with cancer.
Ken worked for Wegmans for over 30 years as front-end coordinator at many stores over his career.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at White Haven Memorial Park on Marsh Road in Pittsford on Thursday, September 3 at 11 AM. Service will be graveside at the Nature Trail in the back. A processional will be formed at the front gate at 10:30 for guidance to the gravesite. Because of Covid-19 concerns, you can stand for the service or bring your own folding chair for comfort.
