I remember Mr. Pugh from the World of Inquiry back in the late 60’s. I lived in Chili at the time (1967) and attended 4th, 5th and 6th grade.

I recall Mr. Pugh as being fair and reserved, not the stereotypical scary principal.

I have fond memories of the World of Inquiry and Mr. Pugh as well as all the staff and students I attended school with.

I am sorry for you loss.

i worked with Bill at World of Inquiry for five years. He was always supportive, friendly and kind to me, the other staff members, the students and parents. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed teasing me often. Bill was very hands on and dedicated to WOIS. I loved working with him and always held him in high regard. I regret that I cannot make it to his celebration, but my deepest condolences go out to Eleanor, their children and grandchildren. Bill was a fine man and will be missed.

Bill was a great person. I remember at my interview with him to be his secretary he wanted me to type something for him. I was scared as when people watch me or time me I freeze. Elsie Blackwell came up to me & said “don’t worry about speed, he only wants to know if you can read his writing”. He was an awesome boss, educator, & loved our school. He loved & was so proud of his family & spoke of them often. Sending my love & prayers for the family.

I remember Mr. Pugh well and fondly. The World of Inquiry, to this day, is the best educational experience I have ever had, and I cannot over state my gratitude to all of the faculty, staff, and administrators–including, of course, Mr. Pugh–for the difference they made in my life, and in the lives of so many others! RIP, Sir!

Just a brief message to extend our condolences to you and your family regarding your husband! I worked with Carol Rinaldi as a secretary in the office the first year the World of Inquiry was opened in 1967! It was my first “real” job, and Bill Pugh was a great boss as well as kind man! Working there was an incentive for me to move forward in my academic career and achieve my Master’s in Social Work! Thank you Mr. Pugh for all you did in my world as well as the world of education!
