Rochester, NY: Michael Raymond Pool, born January 29, 1967, left this world Thursday, January 21, 2021. He passed in his home after a tough battle with cancer, with his fiancé Doreen & his daughter Elizabeth by his side, caring for him & helping him through his hospice journey.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joan Galbraith & Raymond Pool; Also by his brother, Kevin Peters.
He is survived by the love of his life, Doreen Carter, her children Taunia & Sean; His Children, Elizabeth, Jessica Pemberton (Dale), Bryan, Brandon, Faith (Alex); He was the youngest of his siblings, Pam Peters (Earl), Bob Peters (Rich), Scott (Cheryl) Peters, Karen Kasanov, Mary Collins, other siblings, many cousins, nieces & nephews.
He also has 3 wonderful grandchildren, Alexander (Lex), Alivia & Abigail. He loved to watch some of Lex’s sports games & band recitals as well as Alivia & Abby’s dance recitals.
Mike retired from Home Depot in November of 2020. He was a proud, devoted employee of 10 years. He obtained “The Legendary Hero” status for all of his carpentry volunteering for the Veterans Homes for Humanity. His humor, love of people & goodness of his heart blessed him with many loving friends, whom he also called family.
Mike was a loyal Steelers fan & wore their black & gold with pride. His expertise in carpentry coupled with the extreme love for the trade showed in his works & was something he was willing to teach to anyone who wanted to learn.
He found much joy in nature. He was an avid Geocacher (DesertDemon), which lead him to many adventures outdoors. He also loved camping, fishing & gardening. In the time he spent fighting cancer, he built a beautiful flower & vegetable garden, equipped with many self-made bird houses for his feathered friends, who brought him comfort through the tough days.
He was a genuine, loving & devoted man who will be missed by all.
Thank you to all the doctors & nurses that attended to him. In particular, the team of UR Medicine Home Care & Hospice, who showed him tremendous compassion & comfort, helping him through a difficult time.

A Memorial Service & Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 4th from 10am-12pm at Riverside Cemetery Chapel, located at 2650 Lake Rd., Rochester, NY 14612.
My dear little brother, I will always remember you as a vibrant man. Always smiling, happy and fun loving. Remembering the times we spent together. The first time we met and our 2nd time we met on my 60th birthday. I grabbed your hand and started to introduce you to the 70 people we had. Every one was excited to meet you
