Anthony J. Puccia

Pittsford, NY:  Born in Lowell, MA, on April 15, 1929, Tony, a wise man with many talents, had a full life, well-lived. He left us on  Feb. 11, in his 10th decade and 92 year.  He is survived by his best friend, the love of his life, and his “brass ring,” wife Lauren.  Six sons, Philip (Deborah), Stephen (Lisa), Anthony (Pamela), Michael (Kelly), Frank (Emily), and Thaddeus (Courtney) Puccia; three daughters, Nancy (Billy) Ebel, Pauline Puccia Hubschman, Mary Puccia Crook (David Gudis).  Eighteen grandchildren, Anthony (Lauren), Stephen (Sara), Adrienne (Joe Walters), Cassandra, Philip (Danielle), Lakschman, Paulina, Jax, Summer, Michael, John, A.J., and Joseph Puccia; Cristina (Rory) Van Grohl, Michael Johnson (Erin), Nancy Marie (Brit) Cordes, James and William Crook.  Eleven Great Grandchildren, Sophia, Adelaide, Stephen Jude, Salena, Sebastian, and Gino Puccia; Emeline, Josiah, and Nathaniel Sparks; Wren and Flip Van Grohl.  Sister Flora (Alfonse) Valenti, brother Frank Puccia and sister-in-law Kathi Pogoda.  Many cousins, nieces, nephews and special “Niece” Margaret McDougall.  Tony was predeceased by his daughter Sally Johnson, parents Philip and Sally Puccia, in-laws Ted, Dorothy and Dennis Pogoda and many, many friends.

Tony had a universal love of good music, running the Gambit from the Bee Gee’s to Pavarotti, Barry White to Frank Sinatra, Puccini to Rod Stewart, DeStefano to Roy Orbison to Ella Fitzgerald.  Golf was his sport of choice, enjoying many rounds played on courses from Rochester to Florida.  He loved selling – from newspapers in his youngest days to produce in  his father’s business on Rochester’s Public Market, and finally cars; eventually owning his own dealership.  He loved “dabbling” with horse racing and owned many successful trotters and thoroughbreds.  But, above all, TONY LOVED HIS FAMILY.

We’d like to thank all at Lifetime Care, especially his faithful confidant, Jaeson Flagg.  The family will miss you, Jae.  A celebration of Tony’s extraordinary life will be held at a later date when the Covid threat has lessened and all can participate.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Lollypop Farm (lollypop.org)in honor of Tony’s love for all animals would be appreciated.
