Daryl Vincent VerStreate Sr. 2/15/51-3/2/21 Daryl was a loving husband of 37 years to Linda (Graves) VerStreate of Phelps, NY. Predeceased by his parents Raymond and Therese VerStreate. Daryl leaves behind his sister Julie (David) Simmons, six children, Jennifer, Daryl (Kim), Eric (Chrisanne), Timothy Grover, Linnea (Chris Schuster) and Christopher Grover, as well as 12 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Daryl recently retired from Johncox Trucking driving tractor trailer.
When he wasn’t working, he was found tending to and spending time with the family Shelties that they enjoyed raising and showing professionally across the country. Part of the household family were also Daryl and Linda’s two horses, Penny and Nevada. Daryl was also known to spend the weekends with his wife at their summer home in Alexandria Bay at Krings Point Park.
Many pastimes throughout the years included collecting coins, stamps, and photos. Daryl fought the battle with cancer like so many have. During his last days with family, he spoke of his wish to continue support to the St. Judes hospital. As he struggled, he couldn’t help but think of the children and said, “kids do not ask for this and they do not deserve it.” Always putting the kids first was his natural way and the way of his heart.
The family will be holding a gathering in remembrance of Daryl at a future date. Please consider St. Jude’s Hospital for any donations in his memory.
Eric & families,

Our deepest sympathy.
Sorry for your loss,
Betty Synesael McCoy
