Many good memories with this wonderful aunt. One memory that comes to mind is when she came to Canada, we had to purchase some French « cretons ». One of her favorite French Canadian things to eat. Luv you Tante Marie. Sylvie thinking of you and your family during these hard time. She has lived a full life.

    ❤️❤️❤️

I had many good times with Marie! I loved our casino trips and getaways! She loved her grilled cheese sandwiches at finger lakes as long as it had a pickle with it! She always made me laugh! I will miss her and our times together! Love you Marie!

    Sylvie and family,

We were so sorry to hear about your loss. We hope that you find comfort in the memories you keep close in your heart, in the special moments that you each personally shared with Marie and in the love she has given. From what I have heard about Marie, she was a real pistol and I wish I would have had the chance to have known her.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers at this sad tim

Thank you for your kind words. We will hold those memories close to our hearts forever. I’m sorry you didn’t have the chance to know her, but you are right – she was a pistol. 🔫 Stubborn, fussy, and one of the most giving people you could know. 🥰

    To Sylvie and Family,
I wish I could be there in person to share in the loss of aunt Marie. She has lived a very long life and has left behind quite a legacy of which the family is extremely proud. I feel blessed that tante Marie has been by our sides all these years. She has certainly won her place in The Heavens. “Elle a certainement gagné sa place au paradis”, et je lui souhaite un bon voyage! Please accept my sincerest of condolences in this difficult time. Slowly, the pain of the loss will leave, and good memories and anecdotes will remain. I will always remember the summer holidays where me and my sister, Joanne, as young teenagers, would spend a two-week period in Rochester with our cousin Sylvie. Aunt Marie would always prepare a sugar pudding cake – that pudding cake was awesome and so was aunt Marie! Thank you tante Marie!

Gram, we’re going to miss you so, so much – but you already know that. Everyone here will remember your kindness, generosity, and smile. You always liked having company (some more than others) and sharing your life’s stories. What I’ll miss most about you is the special bond we shared. Our daily talks will be missed and I know my heart will break every time I pass Antoinette Drive. By default, I’ll pick up the phone and start calling you on my long drives or when I have free time throughout the day. I won’t be able to call you to share exciting news or stopover to visit and reminisce about the good ole times.

When I was small you always held out your arms to catch me. We worked together (me watching Sesame Street and you doing the work), laughed together, and held each other in good times and bad. It seems like you always knew what to say and how to protect us from whatever problems we had – even that crazy guy on the back porch trying to scare us as kids. You had all the answers and knew how to fix our problems. Our days were filled with Candyland, Monopoly, and dum-dum candy. We had the best sleepovers and it was you always giving, and NEVER taking. Even your Christmas gifts were a challenge for you to accept; the infamous “Red Beret” – I couldn’t get you to take the damn thing. You were fussy, stubborn, and loving. If I ever wanted the truth about something I would just ask you and I knew I could count on you for brutal honesty.

I’ll miss the stories of the way you lived life “In the Olden Times”. That’s when a loaf of bread was a nickel, a dozen eggs were twenty-five cents, a quart of milk was ten cents, and a gallon of gas was eleven cents. Everyone worked hard for their money and understood the value of a dollar. I wasn’t born in 1926, but you instilled an understanding of how hard life could be. Not the kind of struggle we face today like slow internet or not being able to find a good flight for a vacation. You used to brag to friends how I would split a penny into four pieces if I could. I got that from you Gram.

We all lost someone special, but your memory will live on forever. I’m so thankful for the time we shared together on earth and appreciate every last moment. Even though we’re sad we can’t spend more time with you, we know you’re in a much better place. Please watch down on us as we continue our journey through life. I’ll remember to smile more, laugh as much as possible and find the best in everyone. You are an inspiration to our family and your values will be passed down to our son and generations to come. I only hope to have half as much fight as you. You are strong, you are loved, and continue to be an important part of our lives. Gram, you were with me at the beginning and I was blessed to be with you at the very end. Thank you for everything. Rest in peace and know that we love you! 😘

      Constantine,
Very touching message you wrote to your ‘Gram’. Know that I share your grief. As I read your message, tears, tears and more tears. She was indeed a very giving person and will be dearly missed. I was with my own ‘mother’ when she passed seven years ago, and felt very ‘honoured’ to be by her side in her last moments in hospice. Although it’s not easy to let go, know that the future will be brighter.
      Your Mom’s cousin, Louise

Thank you for the message and kind words. I agree 100% – both are somewhere much better without pain. Sorry for your loss as well. 🤗
