Kevin James Rich of West Brighton, NY born February 12, 1959 passed away peacefully, on May 22, 2021. He was a constant in many lives – a friend to all. Kevin was known for his hard work throughout his professional and personal life. He was always willing to lend a hand, an ear, and his heart. His children and his grandchildren were the joy of his life, bringing him much pride. He enjoyed sailing, tinkering, and riding his many Harleys. He had a love of collecting things, and if you needed it, he had it, or the parts to fix it. As a long-time member of AA, he gained a whole community, much like an extended family. Through these relationships he touched many lives, walking with them down the path of sobriety. He will forever be remembered for being the kindest soul in the room, with the most contagious laugh and smile. It’s important to remember, as he would say, “Be kind to yourself.”
He is survived by his daughters Jessica Rich, Emily Rich, and Candace Ellis. Grandchildren; Abbigail, Vincent, Kingsley, Chris, Nathan, and Jaylynn. He is survived by his mother Marilyn A Rich (Hancock), predeceased by his father Stanley G Rich. Survived by seven siblings: Marsh (Vicki) Rich, Eric (Maureen) Rich, Amy (Bill) Louk, Adam (Mary) Rich, Nelson (Peggy) Rich, Heidi (Vladimir) Fabre, and Sarah Rich. Many nieces and nephews; Nate, Trevor, Margaret, Rose, Charles, Myles, Molly, Rudy, Dimitri, Anne, Matt, and Adam. Survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As a tribute to Kevin, do something nice for someone who could use it. Be there for a friend in need. That is what he would have done, and that’s what he would want.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to email kevinrichmemories@gmail.com with any pictures or memories you may have.
Celebration of life for close friends and family to be held at a later date.
He was the kindest soul and I will miss him so very much.
Very sorry for your loss Jessica and family
Kevin, you will be missed. Whether on the water sailing with Mac or on the road headed for Vermont. Thank you for being such and amazing friend. Tell Bob to change his straw in his coffee mug. Give him a big squeeze from me. He was so proud of you. Much love my brother. Rest easy!

Rest in peace, Kevin, thank you for passing along the message to all of us. Truly a part of the “we.”
Though I only knew him for a short time he was like a brother to me. R.I.P.
Got to know Kevin over the last couple years- in the “rooms.” He always had a smile and an easy way (and a Harley shirt.) A humble and gentle man, I could always share a biker, mechanical or hillbilly story with him. I came from a rural roughcut life, and Kevin always made me laugh and feel at ease. I believe he cared very much for his family and friends, I am very sad he has passed, and offer condolences and peace to his family. Ride on brother
I will always be so grateful that I knew Kevin. He made each person in the room feel that you were important to him, and that he was really listening to you. He will be sorely missed by many.
Rest In Peace, Kevin. Although we didn’t spend a lot of time together, I hold you and your family in very high regard. As your cousin, I got my middle name from your father and that means a lot to me.
Rest well my friend, I’ve got the coffee pot on & life is good. We had many a fine talk and laugh as well.
Kevin, my cousin with the most infectious smile and laugh and heart of gold; my sister Kim will miss you very much. Your kindness and visits to her meant the world to Kim~ It seems so many were touched by your true goodness, including myself. Although seeing you so rarely, you showed up at my door at a moment’s notice to help me move when I was in need. And you always made my Mom (Aunt Joyce) happy when she saw you when delivering cookies. Truly, you leave an indelible mark on all. That smile, that laugh, that spirit!
