My best thoughts and prayers are with the Gordon family. I have known Bill for over 25 years and had the good fortune to work with him for over 10 years before he retired. Bill will be greatly missed.
My deepest sympathies to the Gordon family. I have fond memories of working with Bill when I first came to the Bureau of Fisheries. May your memories bring you peace and comfort in this difficult time.
Bill was a great man and a good friend. He will be missed, i’m sure my late wife will welcome him home with open arms. My prayers are with the family, i know what a difficult time this is.
I had the distinct pleasure of spending many days on the water with Bill studying brook trout in the Adirondack Mountains. He was truly a fine man and biologist who loved his family, friends and the outdoors. I will always have fond memories of my friend Bill.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill on a few occasions. A fine man. One memory is of him, with his son Dave, who I think might have been in high school at the time (or early college), at a NYS Chapter of the Fisheries Society meeting. A truly dedicated father. Wishing God’s comfort on your family in this time.
I had the pleasure of working and learning with and from Bill from mid 80’s on. We worked to bring the walleye population back out in the St. Lawrence River between Massena Dams and Chippewa Bay. He, Steve, Blanche and Rodger worked with the St. Lawrence Valley Sportsman Club building a small walleye hatchery on the bank of the Oswegatchie River here in Ogdensburg.
I knew Bill through work, but only after he came over to Wildlife. I felt very fortunate to work alongside him. He was a good, kind man and an excellent leader. My heart goes out to you – the family and friends who read this or gather to mark his passing.
