Mariellen Schiano, the favorite daughter of Sam and Doris Magnera, was born on October 12, 1954, in Rochester, New York. She passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023, at the age of 69.
Mariellen is survived by her son Alexander Schiano (Kennedy), her brothers Tom Magnera (Georgia) and Marc Magnera (Westerly), her three adored nieces Oriana, Sofia, and Alaura, Jim Schiano, and countless cousins, friends, and students.
Mari taught in the RCSD for over 35 years. Her canine companion, Emma, was very dear to her. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, the wonderful impact she had on her students, her love for flowers, and her passion for life and all its opportunity.
Mariellen’s life will be celebrated at the Lakefront Lodge on Lake Rd (at Holt Rd) in Webster Park on Monday, December 18, at 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. All are welcome to join the celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pet Pride NY: https://www.petprideny.org/donate/.
