Dorothy Howell (1926-2024)
Dorothy Howell of Rochester, NY passed away peacefully at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center on April 30, 2024. Predeceased by her husband Frederick Howell, son Kevin Howell and grandson David Howell, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Walsh (Patrick), stepson, David Howell, Sr, daughter-in-law Lynne Howell; grandchildren- Christopher, Brenna, Meagan (Abby) Howell; Caitlin, Ryan (Brianna) Walsh, Erin Gennarino (Nick), Shannon Tokarz (Phil); great-grandchildren-David Howell (Michelle), Jazmyn Helm (Bryce), Mia and Oliver Peterson-Howell, Brielle Tokarz; great-great-grandchildren-David and Mason Howell, Vivian Bryce.
Dorothy was born June 8, 1926 in Sheffield, England. She came to the USA, Rochester, NY in 1957 where she met and married her husband of 49 years, Frederick Howell. She had various jobs but her most memorable was her 16 years at Kodak where she made lifelong friends. Many from CP&P Building 65. Dorothy retired from Kodak in 1989 as an operator in B&W Emulsion. Dorothy’s passion was knitting and sewing. Her WWII storytelling was legendary and always
told over a cup of tea.
Dorothy touched the hearts of many people over her lifetime. Her smile, laugh and giggles will be missed by all.
A private celebration of life will be held for the family and close friends at a later date.
