Linda (Devlin) Bankes
April 18, 1961 – November 30, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda (Devlin) Bankes, who went home to be with the Lord on November 30th, 2024 at the age of 63. Linda was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Linda was born on April 18th, 1961 in Rochester, NY, to Antonina and Orazio Sangiorgi. She grew up in the town of Gates and graduated from Gates Chili High School.
Linda worked at Bausch and Lomb and enjoyed hairdressing as well. She then worked at Precision Packaging. It was there that she met her soulmate, Michael Bankes, in 1996. They had an amazing 28 years together, raising 7 children in the town of Gates. On September 1st, 2024, they tied the knot.
Linda was a true gem with a heart as big as the sky. She cherished her family more than anything and loved spending time with them. Whether it was traveling with her husband and friends, soaking up the sun, or simply enjoying the company of her children and grandchildren, Linda made every moment count. She also had a green thumb and loved tending to her plants and small gardens. Linda’s presence alone left an everlasting impact on everyone she met.
Linda is survived by her parents, Antonina (Losavio) and Orazio Sangiorgi, her husband Michael Bankes, her 8 children, children-in-law, and 13 grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Calvary Chapel Westside (2407 S. Union Street, Spencerport, NY 14559). If you would like to send flowers, you may send flowers to Calvary Chapel Westside directly on the day of service between the hours of 8:30AM and 9:30AM to be included in the service by 10:00AM.
We will forever cherish Linda’s energy, compassion, selflessness, kindness, genuine, and straightforward charismatic heart, and we will all be together again in paradise with Linda and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
