Gerard “Jerry” Dubois was born in Biddeford Maine, May 6th, 1937 and went home to the Lord December 11th, 2024 surrounded in love with his family. He is pre-deceased by his parents Charlotte and Armand Dubois of Saco, ME and his son-in-law Joseph Christina. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, and his five children: Jo-Anne Christina, David (Shirley), Thomas (Judy), Daniel (Christina) and Timothy (Katie). He is also survived by his fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren who adored their Pop Pop. While there were many, he had a special bond with each and every one.
Jerry was a brilliant Mechanical Engineer and worked at General Dynamics, Pfaudler, SimuTech Group and was a consultant for many others companies until his retirement at the age of seventy-nine. He loved camping with his family, fishing, socializing with his friends at Bay Indies in Venice Beach Florida, and spending a month with his family camping on Gladys-Rose Hill in Maine every summer.
His life was about service to others, usually around activities involving his children. He was active in Cub Scouting and was the Cubmaster of Pack 481 in Henrietta. He coached the Rush Henrietta Golden Comets Swim Club for many years and was the Chairman of the United Way Board and the New York Club in Bay Indies. He always enjoyed when old swimmers would stop and visit him or see him around town. Hundreds of parents and his swimmers still call him Coach to this day.
Jerry’s warm smile always drew you in, and his easy way of talking and listening always made you feel important. He was always the first to volunteer if an organization needed help or a family member needed a hand around the house. Although family members will miss their talks and generous hugs from Pop Pop, they will always have a piece of him in their heart and will be better people for knowing him. He and his best friend and love of his life Barbara will always be role models of love, caring, compassion and selflessness that demonstrate a wonderful marriage.
A memorial gathering with be held at a future date to celebrate Jerry’s life. In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to Wild Wings Inc. in Mendon Ponds Park.

Barb, Joanne, Dave, Tom, Dan, and Tim: May your memories of the man he was expand to fill the space in your heart that his physical presence has left empty. Big D was a significant presence in my life, and as he did with everyone, always made me feel “seen” and loved. Hugs to each and every one of you.
