Robert Everett Dicker
New Hartford, NY – Robert Everett Dicker quietly completed his full life in the company of family on February 26, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Marion (Cookinham) and sister Audrey (Dicker) Dean. He is survived by brother Dale Jones (Marcia) of Holland Patent, and dear friend Barbara Munde of New Hartford.
He is also survived by daughter Donna Gority (John) of Altoona, PA; granddaughters Shannon Gority and Bridget Peters (Tracy); great-grandchildren Marianna Williams and Stella, Everett, and Flora Peters; son Bob Dicker (Kathy) of Webster, NY; grandson Michael Dicker; and great-grandchildren Samantha, Garrison, and Brinlee Dicker.
Born in Utica, NY on January 14, 1924 to Mabel Brink and George Jones, Robert was adopted by and raised on the Buena Vista farm of William Dicker of Holland Patent, NY. After a brief time studying at Cornell, he returned to the farm and began hauling feed bags for GLF/Agway. He spent his entire career working his way up to Sales Manager. He and his family relocated several times, eventually settling in Gorham, NY.
After retirement, he and Marion returned to her family home in New Hartford, NY. They traveled extensively visiting 48 of the 50 states. They enjoyed their camp on Otter Lake and were active in numerous volunteer groups with specific affinity for historical societies, antique bottle clubs, and sportsmen’s organizations.
No public service will be held. Friends and family will gather when the fields are green to share memories of him. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flagpole Fund for the Wethersfield Schoolhouse in Holland Patent (www.wethersfieldschoolhouse.com).
