Jimmie Lee Simmons was born in Mississippi on September 15, 1954 to the late Willie Simmons and the late Jimmie Ruth Bush. He was one of six children. He was raised in Chicago and from there relocated to Michigan and lastly settled in Rochester, NY.
Jimmie worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY as a Chemical Analyzer. He pursued more education and attended BOCES where he was certified for HVAC.
Jimmie continued his ambition to become a business owner, opening his own store selling stoves and refrigerators. Jimmie enjoyed fishing and watching old western movies.
Jimmie departed this life on March 9, 2018. He is predeceased by his mother Jimmie, father Willie, brother Jessie J Gilmore. He leaves to cherish his memory: Jimmie and Ebony Simmons, Jacob, Joshua, James, Josiah, Briana, and Megan Rafter, and Akeem Allen all of Rochester, NY. 2 brothers: JT Simmons, Willie(Carol) Gilmore, 2 sisters: Elizabeth (Isaac) Kendrick and Viola Pugh of Rochester NY. He also leaves to treasure his memory a host grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
