Violet Bennett, 1935 – 2019 Seneca Falls, NY
Predeceased by her mother Dora Focht, her father Arthur Bennett and her brother Walter Bennett.
Survived by her children Robin DeJesus, Katie Connell, Allena (Santos) Roman, Allen (Lisa) Mottshaw, Connie (Sammy) Ortiz, Raymond (Michelle) Mottshaw, David Mottshaw , Kenneth Mottshaw, Franklin Rupert Jr. and 25 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Private arrangements will be held at Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a wonderful woman. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
To learn a persons story you must take the time and effort to hear them out. Never will there be two people who have walked in the same shoes but to know of their path and how they came to the present time is what truly defines them as individuals. To her children she was mom. But to me she was my Violet May, my Grammy, and though her past was difficult she was triumphant and overcame like a Super Woman. I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to switch places with her and wear her cape with S written on it, not even for a day. She was super tough and grew super tough children. Some more stubborn than others but she loved them all, never hesitating to give a whip of her tongue when needed. But the truth about Violet May is she is the most important link to our past, our present and our future. Because of her, we have life. And though she knew one day she may no longer be here to tell her story, she wanted nothing more than to know that her family would be strong and bond like never before. As the violets grow in the month of May and the skies are of a purple hue, know that Mom, Grandma Violet, Violet May is not far away but always there with in all of us.
Sorry to hear about your mother and knowing how sad your family is.
