Alfred Bruno - Rochester Cremation

Rochester, NY – April 29, 2022, at the age of 96.  Al is survived by his loving wife, Meta; stepson, Michael Cahill; grandsons: Spencer and Evan Cahill; dearest sister, Dolly Cicciarello and many nieces, nephews, countless friends, and family who loved him dearly.

Al was a talented musician, who played with local bands, and his own trio.  He played for years with well-known musicians such as “Teddy Wilson” and “Charlie Parker”.  He was a manager for “Off Track Betting”.  Also, a founder for “Flower City Jazz Society”.

Al’s smile and love for all will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.  He was a kind and gentle soul and will rest in the arms of the Lord.

Funeral services are private.  Donations may be sent to “Wounded Warriors”, “United Spinal” and “St. Judes Hospital”.

    I had the pleasure of knowing Al for many years. He was a wonderful friend!! Al was the sweetest, kindest man I have ever known. His smile was infectious. He is now in a better place with no more pain, suffering. My heart goes out to Meta and family during this very difficult time. Keeping you in my warmest thoughts as you navigate this difficult time. Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs.

    I met Al in the 70’s and loved hearing him play throughout the Rochester area. He even played at my 75th birthday party! I am going to miss his smile and his personality. He was just a wonderful man and I am honored to have called him my friend. He is unforgetable and will truly be missed.

    Al was a great friend, and one of the finest and most swinging musician I have ever known. I had the great pleasure of performing hundreds of gigs with Al, and I’m very sad that there won’t be any more.

    I had the pleasure of knowing Al and playing music with him back in the 70s. A great bass player and a great guy that I’ll always remember as a big influence on me. He had such a positive outlook on life I can’t help but think the world is less well off without him. My deepest sympathy to Meta and family.

    I will always remember my stepdad as a man who really lived life to the fullest both as a musician and as my mom’s husband. Al was admired by friends and family. He will certainly be missed by us all.

    We enjoyed Al’s music and smile while dancing at Wegmans on Calkins Rd. and at the Robach Building at Lake Ontario. He will be missed.
