Rochester, NY: Abegail Lumba Wenceslao, 74, passed away on the 23rd of January 2020 at Unity Hospital in Rochester, New York. Beloved daughter, loving sister, dedicated mother, benevolent grandmother and thoughtful friend, Abegail was a devoted Christian who peacefully passed and has joined her parents in heaven.
Abegail was born on the 7th of July, 1945, in Manila, Philippines, to Lydia and Dario Lumba. She was the second oldest of ten kids. She attended the University of the East, in the Philippines, but married at a young age and had two children, Lydia and Virgilio John. The family emigrated to the United States where they lived in Southern California for many years. She eventually moved to Rochester in her later years, and enjoyed taking short trips around the country. Her diminutive stature belied the feisty, vibrant free spirit that defined her nature. The light she shared with the world will be greatly missed.
Abegail is survived by her son Virgilio John Aquino and daughter Lydia Sterle, along with her grandchildren, JT and Rachel.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 1st from 2-4pm at Riverside Cemetery Chapel on Lake Avenue.
