Alyce M. Kelso

Rochester, NY:  Alyce passed away peacefully on February 2, 2018.  She was a cherished mother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt.  Alyce is predeceased by her beloved husband, Langston P. Kelso, her parents, William Majors, Sr. and Orie Rainey, her brothers, David Majors and William Majors, Jr. and her special sister Mary L. Davis.

She is survived by her son, David AJ Kelso and “second” son, Elton Huff, sister-in-law, Ivy Clark, generations of cousins, nieces, nephews, many neighbors and, of course, Miss Coco, who will be lovingly cared for by Donna Lemcke and Jennifer Gravitz.

Alyce’s brilliant smile, loving heart and passion for life touched so many people’s lives— from her students and co-workers at Monroe BOCES, to family members, to friends, to Corn Hill neighbors—all of whom were warmly welcomed to the maroon house at Atkinson & Eagle. Her happiest moments were spent there in the company of family and friends, whom she and Langston met and loved dearly, from back yard to front porch, for nearly half a century.

Alyce’s “Homegoing Service” will be celebrated on May 16, 2018.  After the celebration of her life, Alyce and her beloved Langston will be reunited in their final resting place on the 59th anniversary of their marriage. More details will be published in early May, 2018.
