Dorothy Hixson Toth

Dorothy Hixson Toth, Rochester, NY, Rochester Cremation

Victor NY:  4/23/1926- Eternity

“Dottie” Toth was called home to spend eternity with her Lord after a wonderful and rewarding journey with the Lord. She was a cheerleader in high school, a graduate of Syracuse University, and a member of Browncroft Community Church. Her boundless love for people, along with her generosity, made her faith authentic and infectious.

Dottie is survived by her precious husband, Sam, and six adult children: David Toth (wife Cindy), Patti Burnett (husband Dan), Lanse Toth (wife Amy) Chip Toth (wife Jennifer), Nancy Tortorello (husband Mike), Steve Toth (wife Babette). She also has 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Our mom was such an incredible woman of faith. In the Bible, Hebrews chapter 11 is often called the “Faith Hall of Fame.” In verse 22, under the prompting of the Holy Spirit Paul wrote, “By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.” With all the opulence of Egypt, Joseph wanted his descendants to focus on the promises of God for His people. That’s our Mom! She didn’t want any of us to focus on this world but on the precious promise of life with Jesus Christ that waits for all who will put their trust in Him.

A celebration service is planned for Saturday, December 15, 1:30 pm, at Browncroft Community Church, 2530 Browncroft Blvd., Rochester, New York. A reception will follow.

Mrs. Toth’s kindness will never be forgotten. The Young Life meetings and Sunday dinners at the Toth house are some of my fondness memories. Love to all of you.

Dottie was such an amazing spiritual mama to me and so many other women. I will always remember her rocking babies in the church nursery, belly side down, rocking and chatting. Always asking you about your journey with Jesus. I think of her so often now, as I rock babies and engage young women at church. She embodied Christ’s love. What an amazing example. Much love to the whole family.
