Ernestine Beatrice Moye, the consummate Mother, Friend, Sister and lover of all things good, positive and life affirming.  I described my Mother as bright and shiny.  Her personality sparkled.  She was vivacious, knowledgeable, warm, engaging, charming and loved making other people happy.  She was a phenomenal baker and cook and thoroughly enjoyed making sumptuous dishes for family and friends.  Though orphaned at the tender age of 6 in her birth city of Richmond, Virginia, that fact did not stop her from pursuing the life of her dreams, which was to marry, have children and raise a family.  She turned lemons into lemonade, as was her way throughout life.  The third grade was as far as she got in school; in conversation with her one would never realize that to be true.  She was self taught in language, the arts, music, travel, literature, history and geography. The level of education she sought was passed on to her children with her sole concern being that they have a much better life than she had growing up.  She gave the best of herself and sacrificed many of her dreams so that we’d be able to realize ours.  She lived her life joyously and did her best to insure those around her were able to do the same.  Well loved by family and friends, her warmth will be sorely missed, yet her beautiful and endearing spirit will live on through those who love her and will continue to do so and hold her close.
