Francenia Banks (March 31, 1943) passed on June 19, 2018, in Rochester, NY. She was 75. Mrs. Banks is survived by her loving spouse, Johnnie B. Banks, Sr. and her four adoring children Deborah Banks-Campbell, Johnnie B. Banks, Jr., (Mesha), Leesah Banks-Zink (Harold), and Waris Banks. She has seven cherished grandchildren and is survived by three of her beloved seven siblings. Known to her family and friends as “Mother Fran” she spent her time caring for others and spending time with family.
Calling hours will be held at In Christ New Hope Ministry, 155 Pinnacle Rd, Rochester NY, on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. A celebration of her life will be on Friday, June 29, 2018, with a memorial from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and funeral services immediately following. Internment will be at Riverside Cemetery, 2650 Lake Avenue in Rochester directly following the service.
Fran was my younger brother’s foster mom for almost 20 years. As I recall, she was the most caring, loving, compassionate and thoughtful person who I’ve had the pleasure of knowing throughout my entire life. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. My Dad and I express our sincere condolences to the entire Banks family as well as Fran and John’s foster children who lived at their house over the years.
