Avon, NY – Gary W. Murphy, 71, passed peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2018 following a brief illness. Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughters, Kelly (Christopher) Lockwood, Kerry (Jeremy) Trombley, Katy (Michael Hess) Murphy; his grandchildren, Hannah, Braden, Isabella, Nicholas, Ethan and Addison. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Habets, and nephews Ben and Ted Habets. Born and raised in Rochester, NY to Harry and Jane Murphy.
Gary was a graduate of Aquinas Institute. He worked at DuPont for 46 years. He enjoyed golfing and sports, as well as spending time with his family. Gary was admired by all that knew him.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 9am, in the All Seasons Chapel, at White Haven Memorial Park.

So sorry for your loss. Gary was a fantastic guy, we have had a lot of good memories over the years. I have known Gary for over 50 yrs. as he was married to my sister. we spent many good times watching a ballgame, playing darts, playing cards or just hanging around together. I think we might have had a beer or two along the way and sometimes a Jack Daniels to ease the pain of the Red Wings losing or just to relax.
Gary, you will be missed. Rest in Peace, my old friend. And for old time sake, this Guinness is for you.
