HARRIET H. BROWN

Harriet H. Brown, 84, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2017. She was born in Springfield, MA, on July 25,1933, to the late Henry E. and Helen (Kibbe) Hickok. Harriet attended Springfield public schools and was a graduate of the former Classical High School. She continued her education, and graduated from Lasell Junior College in Newton, MA. She was proud of her faithful upbringing, and was a longtime parishioner of Hope Congregational Church, in Springfield. Harriet enjoyed watching baseball on TV and birds of all colors in her backyard. She leaves her four loving children – all of whom had been by her bedside during the final month of her life. Her son, William H. Brown and his wife, Leslie, of South Hadley, MA; her three daughters, Margaret E. Madden of W. Henrietta, NY; Sarah E. Fina of Seal Cove, ME; and Kristin L. Schnell and her husband, James, of Waverly, FL. will forever cherish the beautiful love that she shared with them. She also leaves two loving grandchildren, Kyle and Kelsey, as well as her great granddaughter, Raina. Her cat (and, very special companion), “Toby”, will also miss her dearly. Harriet was predeceased by her husband, William S. Brown. The family would like to thank all of the staff in the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital, for the unwavering dedication, care and support that they provided to Harriet. A graveside burial service will be held next to Harriet’s parents in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Hampden, MA, at the family’s convenience.
