Jackie Ervin Cleveland

Jack Cleveland - N. Chili, NY - Rochester Cremation

N. Chili:  November 3, 2019. Jackie Ervin Cleveland was born in Macon Georgia on March 23, 1949 to the late Mr. Sim Sam Cleveland Jr and Mrs. Maxie Mae (Green) Cleveland. Jack was part of a large family and was the 11th child of 11 children. Jackie was born into the Truth (Jehovah’s Witness) and always displayed a strong foundation throughout his life. He attended Ballard Hudson Senior High in Macon County, GA and furthered his studies in various educational institutions throughout the New York during the 1960’s.

Jackie will always be remembered for his love of sports, music and style. He even once had the opportunity to play baseball for the Detroit Tigers farm team. Jackie was built for endurance, and if you ever saw him land a three pointer on the basketball court consistently, hit home runs consistently or throw a perfect spiral pass during a game of Football you would strongly agree. His love for sports landed him a career in sport journalism (New York), where he interviewed big stars in the professional sport field. Jackie was a great Brother and even better Father , who would do just about anything and everything in his power to help out in any way shape or form. He loved taking pictures so loved ones could look back and cherish moments captured in time. He had a love for various genres of music which influenced those closest to him. And most of all his logical approach to any situation at hand, was sound advice for those in need.

Jackie is and forever will be loved, remembered and appreciated by the entire Cleveland family (cousins, nieces and nephews , the Jeffries family and most of All his Brother’s and sister’s of Jehovah’s witnesses. For 20 plus years you were a part of my life. From Jack and I growing up wrestling fans and you always being there to take us to any event we wanted, to speaking to me before and after deployments when I served in the military. Distance may have taken its place over time but you will forever be someone I looked up to. Until we meet again I say thank you!
