Lyons, NY – Jacqueline “Jackie” L. Collins, 63 went into the open arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 9:08 am with her family by her side at Rochester General Hospital after succumbing to a brief battle with lung cancer.
Jackie was born the daughter of Earl and Noreen (Franklin) Burgess on May 9, 1954 in Syracuse, NY. Jackie spent the majority of her life in Lyons, NY around her family and friends who she loved dearly. Jackie was the kindest and most loving person to be around. She would help any one in her family and even a stranger on the street in their time of need.Jackie lived each day as if it was a blessing and cherished every moment that came into her life. Jackie loved to be around her family no matter what the occasion, Friday night pizza or small dinners out. Jackie was a devoted lover of animals especially her dog, Bisket and cat, Charlotte. Jackie enjoyed going camping and attending her kids and grand kids sporting events, cheering them on at all times. Jackie was a devoted Christian and enjoyed reading the bible and discussing the gospel with her sisters, Sherry and Cindy on a nightly basis. Her faith in the Lord was undeniable. Jackie enjoyed her nightly phone conversations with her sister Barb as they would catch up on their day. Jackie will always be remembered for making a phone call or sending a text message to check in on all those that she loved.
Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her Husband, Ed Collins Sr, 2 son’s, Eddie Collins Jr and Jason Collins, 5 grandchildren, Tyler & Nicole Collins (Eddie’s son and daughter), Ryan, Alaina, and Adessa Collins ( Jason’s son and daughters), Sisters – Barb (Gene) Herman, Sherry (Giles) Bobersky, Cindy (Steve) Donald, Brothers – Richard (Nancy) Burgess, Ray Burgess and many nieces and nephews.
Jackie was predeceased by her mother and father, Noreen & Earl Burgess, sister, Shirley DeCook, brothers Ronald Burgess, Robert Burgess and her long time pet companion, Bisket.
Jackie was the “rock” of her family and will be dearly missed each and everyday going forward.
So very sorry for your families loss. I didn’t know Jackie very well but was always very nice. Barb and Sherry my. Thoughts are with you and the rest of your family. She isn’t with our Saviour and we will see her once again in God time. Xoxo
