Victor, NY: James J. Knapp, 74, passed away August 22, 2018 at home in the presence of his loving family. He was born in Canisteo, NY to Daryl and Rheubena Knapp.
James was married in 1965 to Lois Mulhollen also of Canisteo.
He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. He retired as a Director of Information Technology after 35 years at Frontier Communications, Rochester, NY.
He will be deeply missed by his four children and family: Scott, Rochester, NY; Jeffrey (Heidi), Farmington, NY; Gregory (Dawn) , Victor, NY; Andrea, Irondequoit, NY. His heart was always with his seven grandchildren: Andrew, Davis, Joshua, Erik, Anya, James, Trevor. Also surviving are his siblings: Daryl Knapp, Rochester, NY; Steven (Pat ) Knapp, Canisteo, NY; Irene (Ted) Glass, Cocoa, FL. He is predeceased by his sister-in-law Mary Lou Knapp. In addition, he leaves behind several nieces and nephews. J.J. was fortunate to have many great friends.
A Celebration of James’ Life will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., South Perinton United Methodist Church, 291 Wilkinson Road, Fairport, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a reception in honor of his life, immediately following at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lipson Cancer Center, Rochester General Hospital, 1425 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621.
