Spencerport NY:  Passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the McCormick Transitional Care Center, Rochester, NY.  Jesse was born on May 1, 1932 in McKeesport, PA.  In 1956, He graduated from Penn State (State College, PA) with a bachelor of science degree in hotel and food administration.  He retired from Aramark Corporation (formerly ARA Food Services) where he had worked for 28 years holding various management positions in their corporate food service branch.

Jesse was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather with a great sense of humor which was often expressed on his smiling face.  In his retirement, Jesse was an exercise enthusiast, an avid outdoorsman and kayaker and volunteer for many environmental/wildlife organizations and the Monroe County C.A.S.H. Program.

Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth Palmer Roberts; 5 children, Linda (William) Howell of Greece, Jesse D. (Katherine Cornog) Roberts, Jr. of Medford, MA, Kurt (Holly) Roberts of Raleigh, NC, Laura (Joseph) Bona of Atlanta, GA, and Nancy (John) Mahoney of Cranston, RI; 6 grandchildren Brandon (Christen) Howell, Tyler (Mary-Colleen) Howell, Sean Roberts, Olivia Bona and Rose and Rohan Mahoney; and 1 great-grandchild, Madelyn Howell. He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse Almond and Ruth Virginia (Lewis) Roberts of McKeesport, PA and brother Donald G. Roberts of Versailles, PA.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Jesse on Sunday, May 28, 2017

    Dearest Ruth and Family,

    There really are no appropriate words to express my feelings–this is a great loss to so many. Jesse was a special person and brought so much joy and love into the world.

    He lived a life that mattered and we are all better having known him.
