Rochester, NY: John Henry Atkinson, Jr. age 75 (March 12, 1945 – February 24, 2021) Is survived by his loving son Michael Atkinson, daughter-in-law Sylvia Atkinson, granddaughter Takeera, grandson Anthony, and twelve great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by his father John Atkinson, Sr. and mother Elizabeth. He will be sadly missed by his dear and close friend Chawanda Daniels and a host of other family and friends.

He was well known for his catchphrase “The Winner and still Champ, I refuse to lose!”

John was also well known for his passion for detailing cars and cooking a good meal (People loved his rib tips!!!).  John was a huge fan of the singing group, “The Temptations.”  His favorite song was, of course, “My Girl!”

Because he loved his son Michael so much, it is no surprise that one of the highlights of his life was being “Best Man” at his wedding.

John was blessed to have his son Michael and friend Chawanda by his side when he entered into his final rest.  Rest In Peace “Dad!”  You will always be in our hearts and memories!

I worked with John at Rendoll Paper Company. John was a hard worker and always made me laugh. I have not seen him in years. It was a pleasure working with John. God Bless

    Respectfully
