Kurt P. Dreas

Rochester, NY:  January 27, 2018.  Kurt is survived by loving family and friends.  Kurt’s graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 20th, 10 AM at Riverside Cemetery, 2650 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612.

Kurt was my “friend” from the first day we met, at MCC in 1962 (the first year) and has been so over these some 55 years.
He dedicated his working life to his special talent Photography. He photographed hundreds of weddings, special events, worked with law enforcement, and taught his art form to many Rochesterians through the Adult Education Classes at local High Schools and RIT.
Kurt was a kind and special person. He will be missed by many.
God Bless you my Friend. Bruce

I have known Kurt for about 20 years. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell or story about his photography and some of the well known people he photographed. There was a small group of 4 that Kurt was part of for quite a few years.. We would meet weekly for dinner and the car show at Log Cabin always enjoying the classic cars. He would also be part of our holidays for dinner and conversation always thankful for a good home cooked meal. Our group will be smaller by one and we will miss him.. Condolences and prayers to Kurt’s family and other friends. God Bless you Kurt. Jeanne

    Rest in Peace dear friend…
    Low these 40+ years…
You have been there for all of us…
Always upbeat… Always reaching out to others
I am SO going to miss you Kurt…
At the car shows at Log Cabin
Especially at the holidays we’d have you and Dave over
Now that you’ve left the building,
As you always told me…. always…

    “Mention my name… you’ll get a good seat…”

I was lucky to have you as a friend, part of a special group of people who will feel your loss deeply.

Your jokes and contributions to our conversations where the world’s problems were solved and life, the universe and everything were explored will be sorely missed.

It’s 42, dear friend, but you know that now. Bless you.

Mooshie…I miss you. I remember the day I met you:. As I sat on the Cobbs Hill hill, crying, in a place I thought no one would notice…my head hanging on my knees ….a hand and a hankie appeared … Swaying next to me . I said “go away”, and that voice, that deep sexy voice said “it looks like you might need this”…

    If a man could be beautiful…you were…

Oh, Kurt, my dearest and longest friend – I regret our connection was lost since 2014. And I have finally “found” you one last time. Heartbreaking!
I first met you when you were only four years old! Your parents and mine had been friends ever since your father was a teenager and worked for mine, helping build our henhouses!
You and I became fast friends with a deep bond. Your parents helped mine with the deep grief we all felt when my brother Bob died. I helped you learn to read, by reading to and with you. Your mother and my dad had an ongoing competition of sorts, collecting antiques and oddities. What fun that was. Your mother was like a “big sister” to me, guiding me through my early years and into my early adulthood.
Our friendship endured, although sometimes with several intermittent years. Always enjoyed catching up with you!
God be with you. Farewell, my old friend. 🙏
