Mary Ann Savage (Moadinger) was born Alice Mae Rudolf on October 10, 1933 in Hackensack, New Jersey.  She was the eleventh and youngest child of Victor Jacob and Alice Mae Rudolf.  Mary Ann was adopted to Ralph and Myrna Moadinger shortly after birth and was relocated to Rochester, New York.  She graduated from West High School, where she was very social and active in sorority life, and made many life long friends. While mothering four children, she earned an AA Degree with Distinction in Human Services from Monroe Community College.  Prior to marriage, Mary Ann loved working at the Rochester Telephone as an operator.

Mary Ann was married to former husband Raymond W. Savage in May of 1954. This marriage was blessed with four children. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook.  She loved her animals and enjoyed music and movies.  Mary Ann was a piano prodigy at a young age and loved to sing.

Ms. Savage was an active member of Greece Baptist Church earlier in her life and was grateful for the loving support she received from the congregation. After fulfilling her dream of moving to California, she became an active member of Robert Schuller’s Glass Cathedral Church in San Diego, CA where she lived for eight years. Mary Ann was humbly spiritual and intuitive and this guided her life. Upon her return to Rochester, she volunteered for many years as an advocate for the elderly with the FISH organization. Many loved her for her generous spirit and pleasant personality. Her strength and perseverance, her love and influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.  She quietly departed this life Saturday, February 24, 2018 at DeMay Living Center, Newark NY.  Her caregivers loved her and many said Mary Ann was their “favorite”.  She was a gentle, sweet lady and kind to everyone in the last years of her life.

I can remember Linda’s mother from back when I used to “hang out “ with Linda as a teenager. A very nice woman!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time of your loss!

Linda, I have very fond memories of your dear mother. She was always so sweet and kind. I remember when I ran away from home and she and your dad took me in. I had a great time at the house but my parents were worried sick. I also remember visiting her when she lived by parkridge hospital. I had a client that lived next door to her. She was always so pleasant. My deepest condolences to you and your brothers and sister. 💗

I miss my “Mom” friend. She was always happy to visit with us and always chatty. She made us laugh all the time! She is very sweet in my heart and I miss holding her hand. I still think of her often and she is greatly missed! xoxo
