Rochester, NY: December 6, 2020 at age 75. Predeceased by her father, Laurence Richens in 1973 and her mother, Edith Merle in 1991, brothers-in-law Edward Ksiazek and David DuBois. Survived by her sisters, Rosemary Ksiazek and Allison DuBois; niece Sarajane (Gerald) Godfrey; nephew Matthew DuBois; great niece, Emma Godfrey; great nephew, Ethan Godfrey and cousins.
Melissa was born in Rochester, NY on 11/05/45. She graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1967. Melissa was a longtime employee at Blue Cross Blue Shield, working as a claims processor. She enjoyed volunteering for many years as an election poll worker and an adult literacy volunteer. She also volunteered at the Susan B. Anthony House and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels. She was an avid card player and she enjoyed traveling, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Thank you to the Hildebrant Hospice Care Center for the compassionate care she received. A celebration of life will be planned for the spring.
