Rochester, NY:  PHILIP “DOC” DOUGHERTY, son of the late Winfield and Helen McCauslan Dougherty, born in Philadelphia, PA, passed away at age 90 on March 8, 2019. Predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth(Kim), Bruce(Jean), and Geoffrey(Nancy). Philip is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy (Phillips); daughters: Anne Martinez, Rosina Spurdle, and Nina (Ron) Slade; grandchildren: Matthew and Mariela Spurdle, Nicholas, Hunter, Marshall, and Olivia Slade, and several nieces & nephews.

Philip graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and served with the 28th Reconnaissance Division during the Korean War. He was a Credit/Office Manager at RT French of Rochester until 1970 and a partner/Vice President of ALA of Rochester in the sale of office machines until retiring in 1995. He was an avid squash player, enjoyed a friendly game of bridge, gin rummy, and Yahtzee, loved to travel, relaxed with fishing and reading books by Dick Francis and Clive Cussler. He entertained everyone with his repertoire of jokes. He was a member of the St. Anthony Club of Rochester, Delta Psi Fraternity, First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry, U. S. Jesters Club, U. S. Squash Racquets Association, Gyro Club of Rochester, and Genesee Valley Club. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Philip’s memory to your favorite charity of choice.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 25 Westminister Avenue, Rochester, New York, 14607. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

    Robin,
    I am so sorry to learn of your Dad’s passing. Know that you, Matthew, Mariela and your sisters and Nancy are in my thoughts and prayers.
