Richard Donald DiMeo, 71, of Rochester, New York passed away, Monday, January 15, 2018.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00amTuesday January 23rd at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd Penfield, NY 14526. Reception will follow at Penfield Country Club, 1784 Jackson Rd Penfield, NY 14526. All are welcome to come!

Richard was born November 4, 1946 in Rochester, NY to Richard and Jean (Castagnaro) DiMeo. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1964 and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1968 during the Vietnam War. He then graduated from Brockport State College in 1975.

Richard was employed as a Recreational Director and a Programmer for Xerox. He then became a top selling real estate agent for Century 21. Richard loved being outdoors whether it was hiking, fishing or boating. He was a huge dog lover and enjoyed reading the newspaper every morning while having a cup of coffee. He was an avid lover of Jazz, Blues and Country music. He always wanted to be surrounded by the people he loved and was the life of the party. Every time he would say goodbye, the last thing he’d say to you would be “you can call me if you ever need ANYTHING!” and he meant it. He was a loyal friend and caring father to his children.

Richard is survived by his brother Bob DiMeo and his wife Cindy of Los Angeles, CA; son, Nicholas DiMeo and his wife Samantha of Webster, NY; his three daughters Lyndsay Houghton and her husband Craig of Penfield, NY, Wendy Brown and her husband Chuck of Sarasota, FL and Beverly DiMeo of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Nicholas and Anthony DiMeo, Peyton Houghton, Emily Brown, Gia Costanzo and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Jean, and his sisters Beverly and Valerie.
