Rochester, NY:  July 21, 2018. Richard (preferred Rickey) was born on November 11, 1948 in Woburn Massachusetts to Richard P Luken Sr and Jean Shirley Luken. He was a Vietnam Veteran, joining the Navy in 1970 and serving 4 years. Rickey was a professional Photographer and known for his work around Boston Massachusetts, Rochester NY and Southern New Hampshire. His passions in life where primarily photography and learning. When he lived in the Boston area, he studied at the Boston Art Institute. Then later in life, he received his Bachelor’s in Science from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. After receiving his BS from PSU, he then moved to Rochester NY. Rickey spent the remainder of his life living in Rochester.

He joined a NE Patriots fan club and became their event photographer. He made a couple of close friends near his apartment, which supported him to the end. Rickey loved to read and build his deep historical knowledge. He also loved to watch TLC and the History Channel. He passed away on July 21st after a battle with cancer. Rickey never married and did not have any children.

He will be missed by his brothers & sisters and his friends.

    Rickey, RIP. I will get your last wish completed. I will miss you and our conversations and lectures. I deeply appreciate all you did for me during my crazy years. You were always there for me.     I just found out about this today [Nov. 6th]. I am so glad that we got together in 2016 after all those years of being apart. Rick was a true friend when we were growing up and I have many fond memories of things that we did together. I wish his family belated condolences for losing such a find person.
