Stanley C. Holloway

Stanley Holloway

East Rochester, NY:  Stan passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017Born and raised in Rochester, N.Y., “Stan the Music Man” will be remembered for his love of music, the occasional card game, his gentle-giant stature and many loyal friends. A self-taught man who could read a complicated electrical schematic, Stan loved all things music, from refurbishing a beat-up 1930s Juke Box to mint condition to organizing and listening to his stacks of records, reel to reels and CDs.

Independence and grit were in his DNA and he took pride in tackling those things that most challenged him in life. Stan was incredibly proud of his two daughters, Laura Holloway and Denise Chapman, his four grandchildren Drue Hyde, Hannah Hyde, Kyle Chapman, and Jason Chapman and his great-grandson Ryder Chapman. Never afraid of new technology, until the end of his he life he enjoyed calling, texting and Skyping with them often.
Stan will be missed, but we know where he is the music is now playing. Memorial donations may be made to the Advent House in Fairport, N.Y. Visit http://www.theadventhouse.org/.

Denise, Lori and family: We want to send you our condolence, and let you know we also feel sad Stan is no longer with us. However, he is now in a better place looking down on all of us. He was a great friend and teacher. I will greatly miss him, but will always have terrific memories of him.

Sorry I didn’t get to see him one last time on Wednesday, as I’d planned, but glad my brother Randy got one last visit on the 30th. We had such a lovely visit with Paul, Mauricette & Randy when we took him for dinner at Charlie Brown’s a few weeks ago. Cherish your memories Laura and Denise ~ they’ll come to mind frequently, so you’ll always have him with you in a very special way. Love, Sharon

RIP my friend Stan Holloway. I met Stan at the Charbroil Restaurant 1984 or ‘85, when it 1st opened its doors. We sat at the counter & introduced each other. From then on our friendship grew. Stan, was quick witted with a God given sense humor, like i’ve never met before, it was one of best i’ve encountered. Stan was very friendly and very respectful to others. When he relocated, he followed his friends of long standing George and Nick, to the Take A Break Restaurant. I use to see Stan there on occasion for breakfast. Stan was always there offer a helping hand. He and Mike moved a large cast iron urn to my home. I’ll always appreciate their effort. I extend my condolences to family members and Mike Serinis. And yes Stan is listening to his favorite music as this is being written. God Bless You Stan. We sure had a lot of laughs. RIP🙏🏻 My best sir, Fred Dugan

Laura, Please know that my deepest condolences are being sent to you and your extended family. I know how much you loved and respected your Dad. It is SO powerful that you were able to spend the last six weeks with him. As i travelled the hospice journey with Joel 18 plus years ago, I know it helped me feel that he was in the best of hands(his family) loved every minute and encouraged to ease out of life gently and painlessly. That journey has helped us continue to love and cherish his memory, and I know that to be true for you as well. May his memory be a blessing for you. Sending you hugs, wishes and prayers your way to help you in this time of loss. Love Priscilla
