Rest in peace Stevie Wonder. In hindsight a few of your comments now become crystal clear. Know that you will be remembered and talked about; especially around the holidays. You live on through our memories. Thank you for caring about and sharing your concern for Eli. You two are kindred spirits. Thank you for bridging the old ways with the new. Most importantly, thank you for allowing me to be part of your life. I’m glad you got your windows fixed and I will miss you friend. Henry Standing Bear.

So sorry to hear of Steve’s passing.

He was a kind, thoughtful man, who I feel lucky to have known. Though our paths crossed infrequently, each time they did the meeting started with a warm handshake and ended with a “see you soon!”.

Steve was a man that I, and I’m sure many others, will always fondly remember with a smile.

    God bless, Steve.

Steve was a dear friend to many fellow graduates from Thunderbird Graduate School. He made the effort to stay in touch in the last 40 years and always visited when he travelled to our areas. He and I were the only Tbirds in our class from NH, and that was our bond. He was so brave during his cancer treatments and taught all of us to appreciate life. I was amazed at his vigor and energy in the last five years. I will miss his spirit and friendship. Condolences to his family. He adored his daughters and son!!

I will miss Steve dearly. Working with him over the years has been a pleasure. He was true professional, a great coach, a mentor and a friend. He never let his ailment get the best of him, he was always upbeat and cheerful and fun to be around. I can honestly say that I am a better person because of Steve’s influence. Good bye for now good buddy.

Being out of town, I just found the link to this obit about Steve! Because he’d told me that the cancer ‘came back’ a year ago and then, no word.
SO VERY SAD…having attended a picnic last fall at his suggestion; ‘survivors’ and with his encouragement to bring ‘your boy’ as he’d say, a cancer survivor in my own family. Had known Steve since 2003 and he was a KIND, caring and witty friend! He spoke so endearingly of his family, and yes, loved the outdoors! May good memories warm hearts and promote kindness prevail in his honor.

I am so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. I met Steve at Thunderbird, and we’ve remained in touch over the years. Jessica and Sonya, he loved you both so much. You were blessed with an amazing stepfather. He mentioned with gratitude how much you helped him during his illness, and the incredible joy that his beautiful granddaughter Arianna bought him.. Austin, your father so loved hiking with you in the Adirondack’s. He once wrote that his goal was to be there when you graduated. He was very proud of his three children, your accomplishments, hopes and dreams.. Steve was a friend, a man of great kindness, high ethical standards, and he had so many friends. He fought a courageous battle the past decade. My deepest sympathy to the entire family for your loss.
