Steven Michael Meckfessel, age 69, of Gates, NY, died February 3 after complications with a chronic illness. Steven was born in Rochester NY, He is survived by his children Jennifer Meckfessel (Becca) of Mount Morris, Kaitlin Meckfessel, of Hamlin NY and Michael “Jake” Meckfessel of Hamlin NY; His six grandchildren, Dylan, Lillianna, Charlotte, Annabelle, Brycen and Dakota; closest friends Benjamin Flugel and Joan O’ May. Steven was predeceased by his mother Jean Meckfessel.
Steven grew up in Rochester NY, and attended Gates Chili High School, Class of 1969. After graduation, he went on to study Culinary Arts and Food Science at Alfred State University. He was a member of the Theta Gamma Fraternity. Steve was an avid lover of Harley Davidson Motorcycles, hunting and camping. Steve also enjoyed watching Oakland Raiders and NASCAR on Sundays.
A Celebration of Steven’s life will happen Summer 2021.

I never had the chance to meet you in person but luckily I have the next best things, your son and your daughter. From what I’ve heard mike is a lot like you and I’m so lucky to be apart of your family. I will always do my best to stand by mike and Kaitlin’s side that I can promise you. Although it’s so hard to see everyone grieving we all are at peace knowing you’re no longer suffering. Rest In Peace and watch over mike, kaitlin, Jennifer and all your grand babies, we will be sure to tell them how much they are loved by you and continue to share all the good times with them. You’re so missed and loved!
